Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka: we're on a complete tour of the must-sees of southern India. On this trip, we'll discover the architectural wonders and impressive religious fervour of India's temples. The nature escapade in the mountains and backwaters of Kerala provides a good balance to this essentially cultural trip. Our journey gets off to a gentle start with a visit to the temples and towns of Tamil Nadu.
We discover the trading city of Pondicherry and the impressive temples of Ganga, Tanjore and Trichy. After visiting the colourful temples of Maduraï, we cross the Western Ghats, the mountain range that separates Tamil Nadu and Kerala. We take a nature break on the heights of Munnar, where we alternate our hikes between forests and tea plantations with beautiful views of the peaks of the Nilgiri Mountains. We continue our journey to Periyar, where we walk through the reserve and the Chako spice plantations. Then it's on to West Kerala, through hills covered with tea plantations, then coconut palms and rice paddies along the Malabar coast.
We discover the lagoons on a cruise aboard Kétuvallams, traditional boats fitted out with every comfort. After a break from nature, we head off to Karnataka, where we visit Mysore, Hassan, Halebid and Hampi, all must-sees to complete our trip to South India.
The giant temples of Tamil Nadu, the enchanting landscapes of Kerala and the lesser-known sites of South Karnataka. Three provinces, three atmospheres, one great journey.
